Service Disclaimers
When you book a session with me, it will be assumed that you have completely read, understood, and agreed to the following requirements and disclaimers.
Please read through the list below carefully. Thank you.
Scope of Services
I provide Traditional Chinese Medicine services, including acupuncture, ventosa (cupping), and moxibustion. These services are intended to support overall wellbeing and may be used alongside conventional medical care. They are not a substitute for diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care provided by licensed medical doctors or hospitals.
Legal Recognition of Traditional and Alternative Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine practices, including acupuncture, ventosa (cupping), and moxibustion, are recognized in the Philippines under Republic Act No. 8423, also known as the Traditional and Alternative Medicine Act of 1997. This law supports the practice and development of traditional and alternative healthcare under the oversight of the Philippine Institute of Traditional and Alternative Health Care (PITAHC).
My services are offered within the scope of traditional and alternative health practices as recognized by Philippine law and are intended to support overall wellbeing.
Medical Information Disclaimer
All information on this website is provided for general educational purposes only. It is not intended as medical advice and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical diagnosis, treatment, or care.
Not for Emergency or Urgent Care
My services are not suitable for emergency or urgent medical situations. If you experience severe or sudden symptoms such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke-like symptoms, uncontrolled bleeding, severe allergic reactions, or thoughts of self-harm, please seek emergency medical care immediately.
No Guaranteed Results
Each person responds differently to Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments. Results vary from person to person, and no specific outcomes or symptom improvements are guaranteed.
Acupuncture Risks and Informed Consent
Acupuncture involves the use of sterile, single-use needles. Common responses may include temporary soreness, mild bleeding, or bruising at needle sites. Rare but more serious risks may occur if treatment is not appropriate for an individual.
Clients are required to disclose all relevant medical conditions, pregnancy status, implanted medical devices, and medications, especially blood-thinning medications, prior to treatment.
Ventosa (Cupping) Expectations and Risks
Ventosa, also known as cupping therapy, commonly leaves temporary circular marks on the skin that may resemble bruises and can last several days. Possible side effects include tenderness, skin irritation, blistering, or discomfort.
Cupping is not performed over broken skin, active infections, or areas with significant skin sensitivity.
Moxibustion Safety Notice
Moxibustion uses heat to warm specific areas of the body. A strong warming sensation and mild redness are normal. Burns may occur if heat is applied too closely or for too long.
Clients should disclose reduced sensation, poor circulation, respiratory sensitivity to smoke, pregnancy, or any condition that may affect heat tolerance before treatment.
Client Responsibility and Health Disclosure
Clients are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and up-to-date health information before and during treatment. This includes medical conditions, medications, recent surgeries, and changes in health status.
Treatment may be modified or declined if it is considered unsafe or inappropriate.
Home-Service Sessions
At present, services are provided through home visits. Clients agree to provide a clean, safe, private, and well-lit space suitable for treatment.
I reserve the right to postpone, modify, or decline treatment if the environment is unsafe, unsanitary, or unsuitable for clinical care.
Future Clinic Services
In the future, services may also be offered in a dedicated clinic setting. The same professional standards, safety practices, and disclaimers will apply to both home-based and clinic-based treatments.
Right to Refuse Service
I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue treatment if it is considered unsafe, inappropriate, or outside the scope of my practice.
